Having coached and mentored at AFL, TAC/NAB Cup & League Representative level, Adrian ‘Tala’ Talarico has one of the most impressive junior coaching resumes in Australia. Working within AFL Victoria for 4 years, Adrian was directly involved with TAC/NAB powerhouse clubs Northern Knights FC & Calder Cannons FC, responsible for a multitude of high-level roles as Head Coach, Football Development Manager & Lead Recruiter, helping develop many AFL players who now enjoy successful careers at the elite level.
When it comes to AFL’s highest level, Adrian’s experience extends into Elite AFL club circles, having Head Coached and Program Managed three separate junior development pathways within the Collingwood FC, St Kilda FC and North Melbourne FC. Adrian’s passion for junior development led him to establish Dynamic Footy Skills, which for the past decade has been recognised as Australia’s leading junior development skills program provider for community players, coaches and clubs.
As a qualified Primary & Secondary School Teacher, specialising in Physical Education, Health & Human Development and Science, Adrian’s passion for coaching and teaching saw him approached to sit on the prestigious School Sport Victoria AFL sub-committee. Within this role, Adrian was tasked with the enormous responsibility of implementing a Victorian State-Wide AFL Skills and Drills Education program for Primary and Secondary School teachers.

When it comes to pure coaching knowledge, there are very few who can match the scope of expertise accumulated by ‘The Professor’ Michael Talbot. From recruiting duties with AFL club Fremantle FC, to his current role as Head Coach of Collingwood’s AFL Next Generation Girls Academy. Michael has a vast range of AFL/VFL coaching knowledge & experience spread across 8 years.
Michael’s diverse coaching development extends further than AFL, having had the honour of spending time with world renown Real Madrid FC Junior Academy. There Michael focused on the methodology and development of junior athletes. Michael also had the privilege of being mentored by world leading junior development coach, Portugal’s very own Jaime Sampaio.
Michael’s field experience is complimented with an educational base built upon a Masters of Sports Science (Football Performance) & a bachelor of Sports Coaching (Sports Science Stream).
Known to his friends as Mick, The ‘Professor’ is excited to help impart his wealth of knowledge to improve your game exponentially.
To maximise learning and practice at a rapid pace, the Training Program comprises of 4 Phases. Each Phase is designed, so that it builds on the previous and allows your kicking technique to improve at a rapid pace. You will practice the Training Modules on your own durign the Program and durign the Live Training Session, where you will receive feedback and progress reports.
We get you straight into it and set the foundation very early on. You will practise several of our Ball Handling training modules including Around the World (TM #22) and Finger Spins (TM #13), which will form the basis of your individual training each day. The Solo Kick (TM#23) will set you on the path focusing on kicking with little or no movement. This allows you to develop your feels of kicking (Rhythm, ball drop, contact, leg swing), to initially distinguish between a poor kick and a great kick. The Arm on the Fence (TM #33) will ensure your posture and Balance Arm is a primary focus during all your training sessions. The S & C component compliments all these movements……..
Now we’re into it, we move along quickly and progressively. The Solo Kick level 2 (TM #24) will build on Level 1, introducing balance and movement as well as your plant leg action. The Over Exaggerated Ball Drop (TM #4) helps you perform the ball drop much further than you would be expected to in your normal kicking action, allowing you to master the control and guidance of this step. You commence our very famous Crane Kick (#15) which introduces you to the all-encompassing specialised module, practising all the elements of the kick, as an indidvidual training compoant. The Tennis Ball Kick (TM #18) will help focus on the sweet spot and contact, ensuring your foot position, leg swing and ball drop lineup to maximse accuracy and consistency. The S & C component compliments all these movements……..
Progression is key within Phase #3. Training Modules within this Phase are designed to enhance previous Module training and add more layers of focus to your kicking technique. The Drive is highlighted within the Landing Foot (TM #31), with a focus on performing the different drive motions and an understanding how each will affect your kick. Line Kicking (TM #14) requires your body to moving through the line of the kick, and ensuring that balance is not affected before, during or after your kick. The Soccer Ball (TM #39) further develops your ability to align ball drop, contact and foot position, while ensuring that you kick is accurate and powerful. The Solo Kick Level 3 (TM #25) increases momentum and movement into the Solo kicking modules, in a closed, defined space.. The S & C component ensures a complimentary body function to perform each of these TM to a high standard.
Without slowing down, this Phase continues to accelerate your learning and kicking technique. It combines all the elements of your kicking action to ensure your technique is sound and sturdy from your Approach to your Drive. The Solo Kick Level 4 (TM #25) and Level 5 (TM #26) are designed to introduce movement and momentum, challenging each practiced area of your kick to enhance and improve autonomy. The Arm and Running Pattern (TM #44) will ensure your approach to the kick gives you the best lead-up to performing an accurate and consistent kick by eliminating the movement patterns that increase kicking error. The In the Bin (TM #39) will help you identify how you need to alter and modify you kick to achieve a different flight path to execute a successful variation of kick. The Tennis Ball with Run-Up (TM #20) only allows minimal room for error, thus highlight deficiencies in your technique while at the same time highlight strengths with your consistency and repeatability of kicking technique segments. Figure 8 (TM #2) will provide you with your own personal ball handling routine designed to help you ‘switch on’. Consider it your ‘secret preparation’ to improved training and match day performance. The S & C component ensures a complimentary body function to perform each of these TM to a high standard.
